About Us
Our Story
From the start our goal has been to provide healthy fresh, affordable local foods to our community, via direct to the consumer and farm to table. In early 2019, Carla and I started our 10 acre farm Stalk and Vine on 39 in Lithia Florida. We grew a wide variety of naturally grown produce and flowers. We started selling our goods at local farmers markets, and the demand for our products grew fast. The community expressed a need and a want for more local variety such as eggs and pantry items, far more than we could produce.
So in 2020 with the outbreak and restrictions of Civid-19 we launched our CSA delivery and on farm pick up at our on farm market barn. To increase our offerings we reached out to local small farm producers. Our community is blessed with a wide range of amazing farmers and producers. Over time we built relationships that we rely on each season to provide the varieties requested by the community.
Some of our farmers are Organic Certified, some grow with natural practices, and some grow conventionally. They all share a common trait of being responsible producers. They demonstrate a responsibility to protect the land and its overall health, responsible for sustainability, and striving to provide the freshest, healthiest produce. Transparency is vital to our success and it lets us share the credit to all the folks that make up this chain-based platform.
Over the years we have made many friends and established a food network within our community that lead us to a key discovery; that while the want and the need for local produce was high, the convenience to acquire, it was not easily available. No single farm or market in our area offers a wide variety of products, and spending a day or two traveling farm to farm to get healthy, nutritious, local food is not only inconvenient, but also not very economical.
With the intention of solving the problem we temporally stopped our farm operation at Stalk and Vine on 39 in October 2025 to find a solution, and connect our local farmers and producers with the end user and consumer of their products. With the help, advice, and direction of our community, customers, farmer and producers we developed Crop Drop Fl by Stalk and Vine. We continue to farm focusing on lettuce and specialty crops, we built a food establishment facility, and will continue to provide Carla’s specialty breads, and soaps. Our network of farmers will provide local produce, eggs, and artisan goods. While supporting local farmers Crop Drop Fl connects our community to their food. Every meal has a farmer. We recognize that farming is not limited to just growing the crops, it’s also about growing and nurturing relationships and creating a wholesome connection between folks and their food. With the intention of solving the problem of conveniently connecting the community with their food and farmers and producers of that food to you, we temporarily stopped our farm operation at Stalk and Vine on hwy39 in Lithia. With the help, advice, and suggestions of our community, customers, farmers, and producers we developed CROP DROP FL by Stalk and Vine. WE continue to farm focusing primarily on lettuces, leafy greens and specialty crops and providing a varity of pantry offering. Our network of local, regional and state farmers and producers will provide fresh produce, eggs, and artisan goods. While supporting local farmers Crop Drop FL connects our community to their food.
'Every Meal has a Farmer". In the past 7 yrs providing fresh produce to our community we have come to recognize that farming is not limited to just growing crops. It's also about growing and nurturing relationships and creating a wholesome connection between folks and their food.
